Sahaba Initiative was founded in March 2010 by youth volunteers through the guidance of the elders as an inner city project. The founding members are comprised of individuals from all walks of life. The idea of Sahaba Initiative emerged through a collaborative dialogue amongst high school students who are now professionals in their respective fields. Their interaction and faith led to action. The initial phase began as small support group for individuals suffering from various personal and social ills. Alongside the youth in our community a monthly homeless feeding program was established as the first step towards building a solid foundation for Sahaba Initiative. It than expanded to serving the local community though efforts such as mentorship and social services guiding those in need through the various processes to obtain help for their circumstance whether it was spiritual or material.Today,Sahaba Initiative has two major programs to address the social needs within the community. There is a Food Bank which focus on assisting those with hunger and nutritional issues alongside a community garden which provides therapy and basic life skills training. There is also a resource center which focuses on guiding the impoverished through mentorship to receive assistance. Sahaba Initiative, a 501(c)3, nurtures healthy families in the Inland Empire by collaborating for social change, promoting healing, and providing direct services.
