responsabile commerciale e programmazione della produzione at Neonlauro - , Veneto, Italy
History. In 1956 a young neon bender, Lauro Piaia, my father, decided to start his own business. Neonlauro was born as a family-run neon and sign workshop in San Vendemiano, where in the early fifties the neon bending technology developed rapidly, thanks to an extraordinary manual mastery, wide-spread and established in this part of Italy. After almost 60 years, we're still based here, in the hills behind Venice. Even if the firm has grown and passed through the first generational shift, we still consider ourselves as a genuinely artisan concern. And that reflects in our work, in the deep knowledge on materials, the attention to details and the curiosity to chase after new ideas. Until they become objects. Starting out from the hands. Working with artists represents for us the natural development of our working philosophy and a continuous challenge that moves us forward. Facts. At the beginning there was only neon. Over the years the company has expanded and acquired a variety of processing and skills, in order to respond to the market needs. Now we normally work with LED, fluorescent lamps and other light sources, polycarbonate, methacrylate, abs, vinyl, aluminum, steel, brass, iron. Philosophy. Basically working with light, we believe that each light source or material in general has a proper application. We are committed to a design process that begins with careful analysis of the client's needs and objectives, to find the correct answer. Aim. Neon is our first love and we struggle for its survival. We strongly believe in its beauty and will continue to support and promote any action that aims to find new application for neon light.
