Originally known as Third Street Community Clinic, Third Street Family Health Services was founded in 1994. We are a private, non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). We receive federal grants from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) through Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. We currently provide Medical, Dental, OB/GYN, Pediatric and Behavioral Health Services across our nine locations. The Board of Trustees is the governing body and is composed of residents from Richland County who have a diverse background and a shared interest in assisting people in need of affordable health care. A majority of the Board is made up of Health Center "users", and serves as volunteers. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) implements policies formulated and approved by the Board and is responsible to the Board. The CEO is responsible for overall supervision of staff and program development as well as service coordination. Directors/supervisors are responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for operation of their respective areas. Each staff member is responsible to his/her direct supervisor.On Jan. 6, 2017 Third Street Family Health Services (TSFHS) received accreditation from the Joint Commission for Ambulatory Health Care and Behavioral Health Care, as well as Primary Medical Home Certification. The Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body for health care. All departments (Medical, Dental, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and OB/GYN) for TSFHS are committed to a sound management practice in the day to day delivery of safe and high quality patient care.
