Kerns, Frost & Pearlman (KFP) was founded in January 2001 by partners with significant roots in the insurance industry. The firm soon expanded the partner base to include commercial litigators and lawyers with commercial banking experience.We offer knowledgeable counsel and support primarily, but not exclusively, to clients in financial industries, including insurance, reinsurance and banking. In every matter, we bring a thorough understanding of the issues, opportunities and solutions to serve the client's long-term best interests.Our lawyers have significant experience in: reinsurance disputes; insurance coverage problems (involving D&O policies, managed care policies, technology and miscellaneous professional liability policies); insurance counseling (again D&O, and various professional liability coverages, including agents, lawyers, cyber/privacy/media and managed care/healthcare coverages); and, commercial counseling, transactions and disputes (including real estate development issues, commercial lending/financing matters, copyright/trademark issues, privacy/data breach compliance and audit/investigation counseling). We also handle insurance subrogation maters, including on behalf of fidelity insurers in litigation and arbitrations nationally against financial institutions. KFP also represents government insurance regulators in compliance and insolvency matters.
