HBWU was founded by entrepreneur Denise Czack and vested veteran officer Tanya Czack to solve a common problem experienced by female law enforcement officers every day. Law enforcement uniforms are tailored to fit men's bodies; as such, they fit women poorly and, more importantly, do not allow for the proper positioning of and access to the officer's handgun.Existing uniforms are unsafe for women for the following reasons:• The pants' waistline is higher than the female officers' natural waistline. • This causes the holster to ride up into the rib cage, creating an unnatural and therefore slower draw of the officer's firearm. • In turn, the officer's ballistic vest fits too high, exposing more of the abdomen. Her BlueWear Uniforms:• Automatically place the weapon at a natural place for access, cutting 1.5 seconds off the draw. • Add, on average, 3.5 inches to the length of the ballistic vest covering more of the female officers' vital organs. • Distribute most of the weight of the officer's belt to the hips, providing better balance and reducing the risk of injury. • Reduce undue pull on lower back muscles and spine. HBWU surveyed dozens of women law enforcement officers and incorporated their suggestions for proper fit and function into the designs of our uniforms, always with the goal of supplying the right uniform so officers can properly, comfortably and safely perform their duties.HBWU offers three silhouettes of pants made of high-quality, breathable poly/wool/Lycra blend. The "Streamline" for the rectangle figure, the "Balanced" for the hourglass figure and the "Defined" for the pear-shaped figure. Finally, women public safety officers no longer need to contort and conform into a man's uniform. HBWU provides safer and more comfortable uniforms for a safer work environment.
