We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3), Georgia Department of Agriculture inspected rescue, supporting the well-being of parrots through rescue, rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming. A majority of Americans own pets, primarily dogs and cats, but parrots make-up the third-largest pet community. However, hundreds of thousands of mass-marketed birds are now displaced each year because neither these birds nor their owners are properly prepared for success. A very sad fact is that 85% of parrots are resold, given away, or abandoned within 2 years of being purchased, and yet many parrots live 40 – 80 years. Parrot Rescues are as vital as dog and cat rescues but are often overlooked by charitable organizations and people looking for an alternative to buying.
