H.I.S. was first established in Tokyo, Japan in 1980 and has grown to have 158 locations throughout the world and 280 within Japan, in 2004 the company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Having stores in more than 55 countries helps ensure we provide our customers with the latest local travel information and purchasing strength. Our first retail store in the Oceania region opened in Sydney in 1986 and our locations now include Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, Cairns, Auckland, Nadi and representative offices in Nouméa and Pape'ete. The travel industry has certainly changed in the last 30 years since the inception of H.I.S. in 1980. We initially sold only discounted overseas airline tickets, but expanded to provide a broad range of products and services including corporate, group and package tour trips through over 430 locations.
