The Credit Union Deposit Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, a government corporation, protects all BC credit union depositors up to 100% of their deposits. Since its inception on February 11, 1951, Cumberland & District Credit Union has grown into a successful local financial institution offering a full range of products and services. CDCU is operated under the guidance of experienced management, staff and an elected board of directors. Profits from CDCU's operations are returned to our members in the form of dividends and improved services. CDCU's strong commitment to its membership is reflected in our organizational structure. All CDCU members, with the exception of junior members, have the opportunity to play an active role in the credit union.
