Founded on 25 January 1925 by Don Tomas Mapúa, an architecture graduate of Cornell University in the United States, and the first registered Filipino architect, Mapúa University is the premier Philippine engineering school. It is located in Intramuros, Manila, and in Makati City and runs Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) in Southern Luzon and Malayan High School of Science (MHSS) in Pandacan, Manila.Mapúa envisions itself to be among the best universities in the world, unceasingly fostering its tradition of excellence in engineering, architecture, information technology, business, and social sciences education.
