Whether that is during diagnosis, treatment or after the all clear when you're anxiously awaiting news from a follow up with a consultant or scan.Cancer and its treatments can cause physical changes such as reduced energy levels and fatigue as well as low mood and anxiety.Research shows that simple physical activity can reduce many of the side effects of cancer treat- ment and also the risk of recurrence in some cancer by up to 60 per cent.Cycling before, during and after treatment can:• Reduce tiredness and fatigue• Cut heart disease and cancer risk• Reduce stress and anxiety• Improve mental well-being• Build muscle• Help keep your weight healthy• Improve sleep patterns• Prevent or improve lymphoedema (a type of swelling caused by treatment to lymph nodes)
