Little Lot is a New Zealand founded social enterprise with big plans to revolutionize fundraising through digital media.Our mission is to turn the millions of smartphones and computers in the world into a giant fundraising mechanism for charity by transforming advertising dollars into charitable donations.The four founders - David Hillier, Stephen Hillier, Bennor McCarthy and Nelson Rayner - came together to take this idea to market as 'Donate Your Desktop'. The company pioneered computer desktop advertising by asking users to donate their desktop backgrounds as an advertising space in return for 75% of the advertising revenue being channeled to their chosen charity.In January 2013, the concept was named in the UNESCO Netexplo Top 100 Digital Innovators, and Rayner won the Advertising Club of New York's Google Young Innovators Award in July. After a beta-phase year at market, directors David and Stephen raised seed capital to develop the next generation of the platform that introduced the model onto Android and iOS devices. Little Lot has over 40 amazing partner charities that the user can select to make their contributions towards including World Vision, Oxfam, Starship Foundation, Sustainable Coastlines, Paw Justice, Zeal, Amnesty International, NZBCF, Make A Wish and the Auckland City Mission.Little Lot is seeking to build a strong, sustainable audience and scale the model globally. Now that Little Lot has established a reputation in market, the business is focusing on rolling out the enterprise version of the software across the computer networks of businesses and tertiary institutions.
