Executive Secretary at The American Landscape Institute - Monkton, Maryland, United States
The American Landscape Institute (ALI), in partnership with the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC), is excited to offer a 2 year, tuition paid program for high school graduates. The owners of leading landscape and nursery companies have come together to offer mentoring, hands-on field experience, and an 80% scholarship for quality education from CCBC. The Institute is a first-of-its-kind training and development program for the Horticulture and landscape industry in Maryland. The tuition cost to each student for the 2 year program is approx. $1,600 (not including books). Student tuition money will be held in an escrow account and their money will be returned to them when they complete the program. (Students who do not complete the program will not receive reimbursement). Program graduates will earn a 2 Year Certificate in Landscape Design and Installation from CCBC, (39 college credits) and have the management training to serve as a first-line supervisor for a Horticulture or landscape company. Once accepted into the ALI program, student trainees will interview with various landscape or nursery companies, and once hired, will work 5-6 days per week for a leading Baltimore area landscape, garden center or nursery company. (ALI does not guarantee employment. We simply arrange the job interviews. A student cannot participate in the ALI Program until they have been hired by a sponsoring company.) Students will begin working in spring, earning $12 per hour, and gaining valuable on-the- job training. Starting September 2022, student trainees will work only 4 days per week and attend classes at CCBC every Friday. This is a hands- on- training program. It will require physical work in all types Applications for this unique scholarship program can be downloaded from The American Landscape Institute website and submitted to info@americanlandscapeinstitute.com
