The Northland Arboretum provides over 500 beautiful acres of natural resources in the heart of Brainerd-Baxter. Concentrating on conservation, recreation, and education of natural resources, our 501c3 nonprofit was established in 1974 upon the closure of the city's landfill. The Northland Arboretum provides classes, workshops and events focused on conservation. There are also 12 miles of trails that weave through the property that can be used for hiking in the summer and snowshoeing and skiing in the winter. If you just want a quiet stroll, the Arb maintains several beautiful gardens that host native plants and flowers. We even have a special area dedicated to Minnesota's state flower -- the showy Lady Slipper! There is something for everything at the Northland Arboretum!
