Representing 11 southern states, the Southern Fire Exchange is building on the long history of fire science delivery and outreach that already exists in the South. Our mission is to increase the availability and application of fire science information for natural resource management and to serve as a conduit for fire managers to share new research needs with the research community. The SFE is a member of the national network of knowledge exchange consortia, funded by the Joint Fire Science Program, with the express purpose of putting fire science and research into action. The Joint Fire Science Program funds scientific research on wildland fires and distributes results to help policymakers, fire managers, and practitioners make sound decisions. The regional consortia were established to accelerate the awareness, understanding, and adoption of fire science information within ecologically similar regions.Visit our online Southern wildland fire science resource page at http://www.southernfireexchange.orgConnect with us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/sefirescience)Follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/sefirescience)
