The Friends of Theodore Roosevelt Island was established in 2015 as a 501(c)(3) organization to support the National Park Service in preserving and protecting the living presidential memorial of Theodore Roosevelt Island. We serve as voice and active force for ensuring that the memorial plaza, trail system and woodland landscape remain a fitting tribute to President Theodore Roosevelt's conservation legacy. With our help, visitors today and in future generations will enjoy the beautiful and serene natural setting in the middle of our nation's capital, symbolic of all the natural lands in America Theodore Roosevelt loved and protected.Among our inaugural year goals are to launch a campaign to recruit founding Friends Group members, introduce new recreational and educational opportunities and increase awareness of the presidential memorial.
