Heritage Ability is a Heritage Lottery Funded project working to improve accessibility and inclusivity at 20+ heritage destinations across the South West, including historic houses, museums, country parks and many more unique places.Over the next two years, the project will create a range of accessible solutions for these places, including BSL videos, visual stories, large print and Easy read interpretation. Staff and volunteers will also be advised on how to improve their access information, and will also receive Disability and Deaf Awareness Training delivered by trainers with lived experience. Many of the outdoor destinations will also benefit from an all-terrain mobility scooter (Tramper), helping people with limited mobility access South West beauty spots.The project is being delivered by small disability charity Living Options Devon, which seeks to empower disabled people and Deaf people so they can live the lives they choose.
