Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) has been proudly serving the community of East Toronto since 1929, when it opened its doors as a 110-bed general hospital. Over the years MGH has continually renewed its commitment to the community it serves. Today MGH is a large, urban, full-service community teaching hospital, providing comprehensive care to a diverse population of 400,000, representing over 45 cultural and linguistic groups. MGH is a proud member of the Toronto East Health Network. In 2010, MGH was the first hospital to make the Great Place to Work Institute's best workplaces in Canada list. More recently, MGH was named one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2020. A benchmark for workplace best practices, this is the fourth consecutive year the hospital has received this recognition.
