As a leading pharmaceutical company in Indonesia, PT Phapros Tbk has been serving the society for more than five decades by providing quality pharmaceutical products from its plant at Simongan 131, Semarang. Owning its root to NV Pharmaceutical Processing Industries that established as part of the expansion of Oei Tiong Ham Concern (OTHC), the first Indoensian conglomerate that dominated sugar business and agro-industry, since its inception in 21 June 1954 Phapros has been developing Corporate Culture based on professionalism. In 1961, all OTHC's assets were acquired by the Government and transferred to PT Perusahaan Perkembangan Ekonomi Nasional (PPEN) Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia that is now known as PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI). Divestment made in early 1970s-a corporate action that shifted the majority shareholder into public, especially medical doctors, pharmacists, and other professionals from healthcare services as well as the Company's employees-made professional attitude of Phapros' workforce deeply stemmed. A quality-oriented pharmaceutical company, Phapros has been one of the first five companies in Indonesia awarded Certification of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in 1990. The Company's high commitment toward the standard of best international practices has been further demonstrated by the attainment of the Certification of ISO 9001 in 1999, ISO 14001 in 2000 and OHSAS 18001 in 2010. Phapros has presently been producing 232 items of pharmaceutical products, among them 163 are own-developed (non-license). In 2000 Phapros introduced two phytopharmacas, more than any other pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia. On the organization side, Phapros which has since December 2000 been a company a public company registered in Indonesia Capital Market and Financial Institutions Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) employed 1.385 personnel.
