Mental health literacy in Indonesia faces strong challenges to grow. Negative stigmas that lead to wrong perception about the issue pose barriers that we need to break in creating a society that nurtures mental wellness, thus the urgency to have a better education on mental health. We also believe that youth is the change-makers we need to empower so they can live up to their potentials while being mental health advocates in the future. SHINE Indonesia then rises as a social initiative and incubator to promote the value of mental wellness by empowering youth in breaking the misconceptions and negative stigmas surrounding mental health through mental health literacy and advocacy.
