The University of Houston College of Pharmacy (UHCOP) combines the opportunities and experiences of the Texas Medical Center's world-class healthcare community with resources of the University of Houston, Texas' premier urban teaching and research university, to offer its students the best possible education. The College is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.In 2017, UHCOP began occupation of its new state-of-the-art home in Health 2, a nine-story, 300,000-square-foot facility on the UH Campus. The College offers a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) professional degree, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy (PHOP), a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology, Pharmacology/Medicinal Chemistry or Pharmaceutics. The college also offers three dual degree programs: Pharm.D./Ph.D. in Pharmacology or Pharmaceutics; Pharm.D./MBA with UH Bauer College of Business; and a PHOP Ph.D./M.A. in Applied Economics with UH College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The college also offers post-doctoral fellowship and residency programs in cooperation with institutions, including a concurrent two-year M.S. in Pharmacy Leadership & Administration/PGY1-PGY2 in health-systems pharmacy administration in collaboration with seven fellow Texas Medical Center health systems.The College aspires to foster a commitment to lifelong learning and an environment where students develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills consistent with the high standards of their profession and/or scientific field. Our diverse, award-wining faculty includes co-inventors of U.S. and international patents and National Institutes of Health-funded investigators. Year after year, our alumni and students are recognized at the state, regional and national level in the areas of patient care, community outreach, professional leadership and/or research.
