Founded in 2015, Disability Partnerships collaborates across various partner sectors (business, nonprofit, government and education) to achieve goals in three specific program areas: economic empowerment, education and physical health and wellness. We set a broad goal for each of the program areas and then build an ecosystem of non-profit organizations, government agencies, businesses and faith-based institutions to achieve each goal. Our approach is based on a mission of working together to create an interconnected and interdependent approach to achieve goals. We use a partner engagement model to provide solutions to the social problems associated with physical disability. Those social problems are a result of physical barriers, attitudinal barriers, organizational and economic barriers. Through strategic partnerships, strategic communication and attendance at educational events, Disability Partnerships has met multiple milestones during its first two years as an organization. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with physical disabilities. We believe that persons with physical disabilities can do more than just survive with a disability they can thrive and achieve even greater heights as people who live with physical disabilities.
