The mission of the Hillsboro Charter Academy is to provide an SOL-based, academically rigorous school of choice to Loudoun County families while maintaining the small, community-based approach of the school. This public charter school is located in western Loudoun County within historic Hillsboro, Virginia. It is a K – 5 school with a student population of 80 – 160 students. It opens in the fall of 2016. The HCA Board of Directors is passionate about bringing something new to the way children are educated. The principal will lead a small staff of teachers to educate the whole child and reach them where they are via individual learning plans. It will be an experiential, inquiry-based school that incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) into a project-based curriculum that prepares students for twenty-first century learning.
