Each year, the team rosters between 18 and 22 skaters for Collegiate, and 8 or more skaters for Open Collegiate. We welcome all skaters who have juvenile moves or higher. The team currently includes skaters from all over the US who represent a vast range of schools and majors within the University. At Michigan, our skaters have the opportunity to obtain a world-class education while representing U of M, a Big Ten school, in competitions all over the country. Members of UMSST take their education seriously and work hard to successfully balance academics with athleticism. In addition to representing the University of Michigan on a national level, we are proud to be a part of the school spirit surrounding Michigan and its athletics. At select home hockey games, we perform our program after the completion of the first period. Additionally, this season, we continue looking forward to supporting the Michigan Men's Ice Hockey Team by shoveling the snow in between periods! The Collegiate team has finished on the national podium for the last 11 consecutive years. They have won the US Synchronized Skating Championships 4 times in the team's history, most recently in 2020. In 2017, UMSST expanded its program to include an Open Collegiate team. The Open Collegiate team has finished on the Midwestern-Pacific Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships podium every year since its creation, most recently placing 3rd in 2020.
