Wellington Free Ambulance are the one and only free emergency ambulance service in the greater Wellington and Wairarapa region.\\In addition to this we also provide an inter-hospital patient transfer service to the Capital and Coast District Health Board and Hutt Valley District Health Board. This service also includes meeting air ambulances at the Wellington airport, and transferring patients to and from the Wellington and Hutt Valley Hospitals.\\The Central Emergency Communications Ltd (CECL) is also operated by Wellington Free Ambulance (in a joint venture with St Johns New Zealand) and is located within Wellington Free Ambulance Headquarters in Thorndon. \\Wellington Free Ambulance event paramedics, provide highly skilled, professional and friendly volunteer medics for events all over the Wellington region.\\Wellington Free Ambulance covers the area from just north of Waikanae, across to the top of Mount Bruce and down to Cook Strait , a population of approx. 500,000 people. We operate from 10 ambulance stations, including Newtown, Thorndon (also our Headquarters and Fleet services Workshop), Lower and Upper Hutt, Porirua, Paraparaumu and two operational bases in Waikanae and Wainuiomata.
