Piedmont Columbus Regional dates back to 1836 when the local hospital was a small building along the Chattahoochee River. Piedmont Columbus Regional and its two hospitals, the Midtown and Northside Campus, joined the Piedmont family in March 2018. Midtown campus is a 583-bed, acute care hospital and features a regional Level II trauma center and is one of only six perinatal centers in the state with a Level III neonatal ICU and a full-service pediatric intensive care unit. The Midtown campus has been home to the Family Medicine Residency Program since 1972.
