The company was founded in 2001 by Giorgio Gori, Ilaria Dallatana and Francesca Canetta, and in 2007 the De Agostini Group bought a controlling interest in the company, making Magnolia a strategic asset for its development in the Media market, through the creation of the Zodiak Media Group in June 2010. In 2016, the Banijay Group and Zodiak merged and under the direction of Marco Bassetti, became the largest independent production company in the world.
