Abel Enterprises (H-N Work Group of Simcoe) is a Not For Profit organization, supporting people living with a mental illness or addiction. We provide products and services to the community, while providing training and support for people with disabilities. Formed in 1981 as a small group of men that supported each other and began a work group for people who wanted to work, earn money and build friendships. Over the years, Abel has supported people with disabilities by providing employment opportunities, building sheds, accessible furniture and wood products, and assistive devices. Today, the group works together to raise funds for social activities. We also support the AIM Work Group, an independent partnership business, comprised of consumer-survivors that work together on contracts as a supportive group, and manage all of the operational activities of their own business, est. 2018.
