Bayou District Foundation, a Louisiana non-profit, was created by a group of civic minded New Orleans business people committed to rebuilding and renewing New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The vision of the Bayou District Foundation includes the development of a mixed income residential community on the site of the former St. Bernard Public Housing Development and surrounding neighborhood, the introduction of three world class schools to the St. Bernard neighborhood, and the restoration of New Orleans City Park's recreational and golf facilities.
