Aspire provides support and information to people who have Aspergers Sydrome and to their families. Aspergers Syndrome affects roughly 1 in 88 people and is characterised primarily by impairments in social functioning and communication. Diagnosed individuals are faced with challenges that can not be particularly apparent to others not familiar with the condition. As a result, Aspire works to provide answers to parents, friends and people with Aspergers Syndrome and provide them with the information and support they need, be it in relation to diagnosis, therapy or building social skills. We are based in Dublin but strive to support individuals and families nationwide. There are number of services that operate outside of Dublin that specifically cater for individuals with Aspergers Syndrome - should an individual contact us from somewhere outside of the major cities in Ireland we can direct them to the nearest services and support available to them.Aspire provides information and support through a helpline, educational drama classes, play therapy, adult support, research, lobbying and seminars.
