Lawrence General Hospital proudly serves the Merrimack Valley as an independent, non-profit community hospital. One of the largest employers in the area, it is home to more than 180 licensed inpatient beds, about 500 registered nurses, and 450 physicians with privileges. Outside of our main campus in Lawrence, our community hospital also provides ambulatory services at several clinics in Andover, Lawrence, North Andover, and Methuen. Primary care, weight management, laboratory, imaging, OB/GYN, physical therapy, and women’s health are just some of the many growing services we offer in the outpatient environment. In some cases, given Lawrence’s diverse and challenged community, the hospital cares for a vulnerable population. This offers a very unique experience of providing care for patients of higher acuity. These clinical experiences allow our clinicians to practice in scenarios that are as challenging as they are rewarding. Home to one of the busiest Emergency Centers in Massachusetts with over 70,000 visits per year, our emergency and critical care teams are prepared for nearly anything. Our organization stresses the importance of continued education, as we have a robust nursing professional development program. It is not uncommon to find one of our nurses serving as a preceptor.
