At Roosevelt, we provide a rich environment that helps our students to reach their fullest academic, emotional, and social potential. We are proud to have an excellent teaching staff and a full complement of educational specialists and support staff to assist students in meeting this goal. We offer a balanced literacy approach that includes direct teaching of skills within a rich, language environment. We teach our students to be critical thinkers, in-depth readers, and fluent writers. We build an understanding and appreciation of the natural world and the community in which we live, through our science and social studies programs. Our students learn the language and use of mathematics as they develop their number sense, and as they find solutions to math problems. Students participate in art, music, health and physical education and have access to the services of our media specialist and a wonderful library of reading and information resources. Our 5th and 6th grade students take an introduction to Spanish class as well. In addition, our technology specialist instructs students in computer curriculum areas such as e-mail, power point, word processing, graphics and responsible Internet use. We have a modern lab with 32 computers! Ridgefield Park Public Schools have received statewide recognition for excellence in education. We continue to place at the top of the list on the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK) and will continue to strive toward an even higher standard of excellence in the future.
