Established in 1950 by the Kraft Corporation, the Kenilworth Cheese Factory manufactured bulk cheeses however after a move to centralization the Kenilworth Cheese Factory faced the grim fate of closure. Kenilworth Country Foods Pty Ltd opened it's doors on the 7th September 1990, after being picked up by six past employees and a local entrepreneur. On the 1st June 2017 The business was sold to local Dairy Farming Family - The Cochrane's - John and Margaret and their son Kelvin and Ronnie Daughter-in-law. The Cochrane Family continue to produce boutique handcrafted cheese, with the addition of dairy desserts and thick yoghurts. As a Queensland owned and operated factory we pride ourselves on our community spirit, sourcing local milk from local farmers and contributing every year to the Kenilworth Cheese, Wine and Food Festival. We are one of the only cheese makers in the country that make our specialty Queensland Red Malling and Roma Malling cheeses. Originally made in 1920, we follow the original recipe today making sure we maintain the 96 year legacy. Our introduction to Woolworths made a massive impact on our community offering new job options with the opening of a whole new production line. Kenilworth Country Foods is one of the oldest suppliers of Queensland made Yoghurt to Woolworths including our Mango, Passionfruit and Crumble ranges. We continue to supply our Classic Chocolate Mousse to our local stores and Woolworths. With new and exciting flavours and products always in the works we invite you to our factory grounds where our outlet shop is open 7 days a week and our factory operates Monday through Friday.
