Created in 2009, the ITACET Foundation is a non-profit organization whose aim is to organize, promote and sponsor training and education actions in the field of tunnelling and underground space use. The activities organized by the Foundation are aimed at ITA-AITES Member Nations, young engineers, geologists, consultants, policy makers….The Foundation has an international network of more than 130 lecturers, who are renowned specialists from the academic and industrial world.Since its creation, the Foundation has organized over 60 training and education actions, principally in the form of short courses and seminars. It has trained over 6000 people in 20 countries.The Portfolio (catalogue) of the courses offered by the Foundation is developed by the ITA-CET Committee of ITA-AITES. Courses are currently offered on 20 different topics, such as Innovations in Tunnelling, Mechanized and Conventional Tunnelling, Health and Safety during Construction, Underground Space Use, Principles of Tunnel Design......On its creation in 2009, the Foundation was declared to be the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association's (ITA-AITES) executive body for education and training actions.
