The HOPES Center, a sponsored ministry of the Racine Dominicans, is a Non-profit organization dedicated to building awareness of the causes and consequences of poverty and to employ collaborative multi-dimensional approaches towards their alleviation. In doing so, The HOPES Center provides counseling and case management services to the Homeless and/or chronically and persistently mentally ill populations of Racine County. The Center also provides Healing Arts (Massage, Acupuncture, Chiropractics, Art Therapy and Spiritual Guidance) services to its clientele. As people become self-sustainable, local poverty is reduced. In addition, The HOPES Center works to alleviate poverty globally and locally through its two retail ventures: "Just Trade" and "Cup of Hope". "Just Trade" offers only Fairly Traded retail items, meaning the products are produced around the World in safe and environmentally friendly ways and the producers are provided a fair living wage. These products therefore ensure a decent living for various people around the World, thus helping to alleviate global poverty. In the same way, our Coffee shop "Cup of Hope" offers only Fair Trade Coffee, Tea and Chocolate beverages and products in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere.
