West Metro Fire Protection District is an internationally-accredited, ISO 1 rated, full-service, all-hazard, fire and rescue agency. West Metro Fire Rescue (WMFR) was created in 1995 after the community voted to consolidate the Lakewood Fire Protection District and Bancroft Fire Protection District. Service AreasWest Metro Fire Rescue is a special district government agency providing fire and rescue services to nearly 280,000 residents, covering more than 108 square miles in two Colorado counties with crews at 17 fire stations. We serve the following areas:~ City of Lakewood ~ Town of Morrison ~ Parts of the cities of Golden and Wheat Ridge~ Parts of unincorporated Littleton and Jefferson County~ Roxborough communities and Waterton Canyon (Douglas County) ~City of Wheat Ridge~City of EdgewaterWest Metro Fire has a Training & Event Center, which opened in September 2009 and is located in Lakewood, Colorado approximately 15 miles southwest of Downtown Denver, right off of the "285 Corridor".The Center offers meeting space and training facilities to public and private organizations for rental use. We have six meeting rooms, along with a small conference room. Board of DirectorsWest Metro Fire Rescue is governed by a public-elected seven member Board of Directors that oversees the budget and establish policy.
