Using data diode technology the Arbit Data Diode and the Arbit TRUST Gateway solves the challenges of running disconnected / air-gapped networks. Motivation for one-way data transfer: The increasing data stealing threat to vital company information from Trojans and other malicious software forces many companies to separate their production networks from other less secure networks (including the internet). While this eliminates the danger of remote data stealing it also slows down productivity if data is required from the less secure networks. Therefore, some companies are forced to rely on router and firewall based security. While this provides a certain level of intrusion protection (as long as firmware vulnerabilities are discovered and corrected), it provides only limited protection from data stealing performed by Trojans and other malicious software brought into the network by downloads, web browser attacks, laptops and other sources. The Arbit Data Diode addresses this situation by allowing data to be transported from the less secure network to the top secure network, but never the opposite way. The design of the Arbit Data Diode prevents data from being transported back to the transmitting network by using a single fiber optic cable which only transmits light in one direction. Information is physically not able to be transported in the opposite direction. Arbit operates out of Europe, Denmark enabling top secure networks throughout the world.
