המכון הלאומי לשיקום נפגעי ראש הינו עמותה ציבורית (מלכ"ר). שיעודו לסייע בשיקומם הנפשי, החשיבתי, התעסוקתי, החברתי והמשפחתי של אנשים לאחר פגיעה מוחית. המכון מציע שירותי אבחון, שיקום תעסוקתי וטיפול פסיכולוגי ונוירופסיכולוגי. רקע – המכון הלאומי לשיקום נפגעי ראש תפקד בעבר כיחידת סמך במשרד הביטחון ונועד לשיקום נפגעי ראש של צה"ל. אחרי מלחמת יום הכיפורים הוקם המכון כעמותה שבה מכהנים בוועד המנהל שלו, נציגי משרד הביטחון, הביטוח הלאומי, משרד הבריאות ונציגי ציבור אחרים. בין חברי הוועד המנהל הראשון היו המנוחים : יצחק רבין, אהרון יריב, רפי רוטר, מרדכי שני וישראל כץ ז"ל.המכון רכש מוניטין ומקצועיות בטיפול בנפגעי ראש והגיע להישגים ברמה בינלאומית. במרוצת השנים חלה ירידה, תודה לאל, במספר נפגעי ראש בצה"ל. במקביל, החל המכון לטפל בצעירים בעיקר נפגעי תאונות דרכים. בכך ענה המכון לצרכי מערכת הביטחון ובמקביל לצרכי הציבור.דרך המכון עוברים בשנה כ- 300 מטופלים/ות בשלושה מרכזים:
