Director of Research and Education at Marine and Coastal Ecology Research Center - Spring Hill, FL, US
The Marine and Coastal Ecology Research Center is a non-profit organization and a resource for people interested in becoming actively involved in conservation, preservation, and education of marine and coastal habitats. Research is aimed at understanding changes in marine and wildlife habitats, linking investigations to local, ocean, and global changes. Education programs are designed to excite students, as well as people intrigued by field biology, with dynamic learning techniques. Our goal is to understand the world's oceans one small question at a time, inspiring interest along the way!The Marine and Coastal Ecology Research Center's focal project investigates humpback whales wintering off Puerto Rico. Humpbacks migrate from North Atlantic feeding grounds aggregating in lower latitudes including coastal Puerto Rico. We offer internships, volunteers research assistant positions, and programs for people who are studying, have graduated, or have a keen interest in marine and wildlife biology and ecology. Programs are designed to be skill builders, and many of our students earn up to 3 credits through an independent study with a faculty adviser on their campus.School age programs feature Wildlife Ecology for Junior Scientists. Please contact us through one of our websites:www.Marine-Eco.org (Main Website)www.Marine-Eco.org/mcerc-moodle.org (Education Hub)www.Marine-Eco.Jimdo.org (Photo Gallery)www.Facebook.com/researchcenteror email at mcerc.mail@gmail.com
