HealthGates was founded in early 2017 by Dr. Francis Arena, Medical Director of NYU Langone Arena Oncology and Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU Medical College. HealthGates was borne out of the frustration with the existing mechanisms for treatment authorization. These archaic mechanisms often delay and other times deny proper treatments for patients needing these crucial medications. With the advent of targeted therapies, these same archaic mechanisms for authorizations can't distinguish which patients truly require and who would benefit from these very expensive treatments.HealthGates plans to work within the existing medical ecosystem to connect the insurance company to the doctor's office and specialty pharmacy. The HGTS token will power this solution and provided needed information between each player in the medical ecosystem to guarantee patients are receiving and insurance companies are paying for effective treatments. In order to prescribe a treatment, physicians must pass through a series of questions, or "gates" that load the HGTS token with information needed to unlock the next step in the diagnosis / prescription process. This is Gatemaster Provider. There will be a Gatemaster tool for the Patient, Insurance Company and Industry (pharmaceutical company / pharmacy) to ensure the removal of data silos.The HealthGates platform uproots the current prescription process and replaces it with the future of efficiency in treatment.
