The European Union Africa RISE programme is a regional technical assistance facility to promote business development and improve the investment climate in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean. It supports the EU partnership with Africa on sustainable investments and jobs, inclusive growth and decent work. The facility is available in 25 countries in the EA-SA-IO region and provides technical assistance to improve the investment climate and strengthen access to finance and implementation of dedicated financial instruments. EU Africa RISE aims to promote macro-economic policy and regulatory reform to create a business environment that encourages investment, improves access to finance and contributes to increased employment. EU Africa RISE is a demand-driven facility, pooling expertise from academia, technical experts, practitioners and business managers from Europe and Africa to provide research, advisory services, training, long-term technical assistance, short-term consultancies and expert missions. Available support The Africa RISE Facility provides support on three levels: macro-level support for policy initiatives, public-private dialogue and regulatory reform to create a favourable operating environment for the private sector; meso-level support, to address market failures, enhance value chains and increase competitiveness; micro-level support, working directly with businesses.
