November 2011: We have just sent another container packed with equipment, educational resources, IT equipment and medical supplies which will arrive in Brufut sometime during December. Our next convoy is due to leave at the end of December to finish setting up the educational programme in Brufut as well as planning for our new projects in Saloulou, Southern Senegal (replacing the roof on the village school) and Katuba, Northern Gambia (re-founding the medical centre). Aim:The school is the first multi-purpose skills centre in Brufut. It teaches Carpentry, Welding, Computer skills, Adult Literacy and Agronomy, as well as Arabic, Mathematics, and English, and house a community library. It will be the only site in Brufut where young people have free access to the internet, as well as the opportunity to train technical skills within well-equipped workshops.Project Priorites:Finishing the construction of the school and improving the workshops.Paying teachers and administrative staff for the next school year.Collecting materials (educational, computers, tools, medicines, sewing machines, printing equipment and workshop materials….) and shipping them to The Gambia.Fundraising and campaigning for youth and women's empowerment in the UK and throughout the Globe.Bringing together volunteers and resources from around the UK, Europe and the World to make our project work.
