‘Vardhishnu – Social Research & Development Society' is a Non Profit, Non-Governmental organisation registered under the Societies Act, 1860, with its registered office in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Vardhishnu has been established with an aim to work on specific social issues through study / research and implementation of findings.Vision: Every child will have a safe, secure and a happy childhood.Mission: To create spaces of learning and support for children by collaborating with individuals, institutions and initiatives.Programs:"आनंदघर" (Home of Happiness) Idea: The idea is to provide basic formal & informal education and skills to child waste pickers as well as out-of-school children and make them capable of joining main stream schools to cope with the learning process in the school. It is achieved through Informal Learning Center which will act as a bridge between the children who had never went to school or those who dropped out of schools and the main stream schools. Activities and programmes are designed carefully to make the expected impact.Through Anandghar we focus on these following fundamentals1. Academic skills: To enable children to read and write fluently in Marathi and solve basic numerical problems.2. Life skills: Expression, Cooperation, Observation & Leadership. 3. School Enrolment & sustenance: To enrol and sustain children in main stream schools by leaving their profession behind.4. Hygiene & Physical well-being: To inculcate clean and hygienic habits and quit substance abuse.5. Emotional and mental well-being among children: To provide a safe, secure and child-centric environment to share, connect and reflect their emotions. Current Status: The project was started on 2nd January 2014 in Tambapura area of Jalgaon. Currently we are running 3 communnity centers across Jalgaon where 125+ children are attending regularly. Till date we have successfully enrolled and sustained 100+ children into the main stream schools. Expansion Anandghar: The idea to collaborate with organisations who want to replicate the model of Anandghar. We provide resources, training, capacity building, action plan to create systems and processes.Currently we have 3 active partnerships across Maharashtra.Saksham - Stitching for Dignified Life: Through Saksham we are providing a sustainable livelihood to female waste pickers. Currently we manufacturing different types of cloth bags.
