Berkeley Air is a leader in field monitoring and evaluation of household energy projects in the developing world. Our work includes designing, planning, and executing studies that assess household energy technologies and their impacts. We work closely with local groups, helping to build technical capacity for assessing household energy projects by supporting universities, NGOs, and technical institutes. We seek to provide rigorous, scientific and field-based testing, monitoring, and evaluation services to household energy implementers and funders in both the public and private sectors.Berkeley Air is also heavily involved in policy and strategic components of the household energy sector. Our personnel work on cookstove standards and guidelines development, including current efforts from the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and World Health Organization (WHO). We also provide strategic consulting on programmatic implementation, focusing on integration of monitoring plans and cookstove quality assessments.We have experience throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
