Founded in 1990, Wonder Dog Rescue is a community of volunteers committed to finding adopters for vulnerable small dogs throughout Northern California. Wonder Dog embraces the Power of Foster, giving every dog the time to grow into the loving dog they were meant to be before finding their permanent home. Wonder Dog invites new volunteers to come and share this commitment with them.- The Wonder of Compassion: WDR cares for the most endangered city-sized dogs with severe shelter-induced stress or special medical needs that make them most at risk of being overlooked for adoption.- The Wonder of Commitment: WDR relies on the deep, rich pool of medical, foster, and adoption experience acquired and developed by generous volunteers during decades of rescuing dogs.- The Wonder of Foster: WDR places dogs in one of our committed foster homes immediately, providing each a place to heal and to grow into the loving dog they were meant to be, before finding their forever home.
