Loneliness will be reduced and mental health improved by becoming part of the Bee Buddies community, the Bee Buddies ‘Hive'. Seniors connect with one another through identification of similar interests or accessing valuable skills. As a web-based platform, Bee Buddies is growing a network that brings together seniors who seek new connections but may lack the opportunities or circle of friends to maintain regular in person social interactions. The business builds upon lessons learned from the events, adventure, and dating website industries. The platform promotes platonic social interactions to challenge solitary, quiet days that can often lead to loneliness or depression. Through choice of activities, such as delivery of a daily newspaper, learning how to use a smartphone, or helping with gardening, seniors and retirees will enjoy regular interaction with one another, even if it's just for minutes in a day. Access to the Bee Buddies Hive is through payment of a modest recurring, monthly subscription fee. Members will browse the Bee Buddies site with the intention of making matches through offerings or common activities of interest. Bee Buddies will be launching January 2021.
