Nothing about addressing the issue of violence against women and girls should be passive. This is why we teach, we train, we write. This is why our work revolves around the voices and experiences of women. In the movement to end violence against women, Men Stopping Violence is keenly aware that we must address the intersections of gender and race, while also shining a light on violent systems that continue to traumatize the Black community. In disrupting the structures that uphold inequities, MSV stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and others who embrace the immortal words of Fannie Lou Hamer, – "Nobody's free until everybody's free." To that end, we are emphatic about creating safer communities for women, girls, and communities of color. We are committed to being an active voice in the cause of justice, as we have been for the past 39 years.
