Coast & Harbor Engineering has extensive experience providing the full spectrum of engineering services required for design and construction of coastal projects.Our engineers have performed coastal analysis and shoreline protection design on the open coast, in bays and estuaries, and in rivers and lakes. Shoreline protection analyses have evaluated causes of erosion ranging from vessel-induced transport to storm surge and El Niño effects. We specialize in analyzing coastal physical processes and their effects on coastal zone and waterfront projects. Waves, currents, and sediment and contaminant transport are analyzed and simulated for assessing project feasibility and for planning, permitting, and design. CHE engineers routinely develop, verify and apply sophisticated numerical modeling tools and analysis techniques. These capabilities are applied to quantify and display physical effects on the project, and minimize project effects on the environment.Our engineers are experienced in development, rehabilitation and improvement projects within harbors and marinas. These studies and design efforts have been performed to install upgrades to facilities, optimize design features or mitigate undesired environmental conditions.
