RTV21 is Kosovo's leading independent broadcaster, now also broadcasting inMacedonia, with 24-hour radio and TV channels, broadcast on terrestrial,satellite and IPTV, and a strong digital presence. The outlet forged itsreputation during Kosovo's armed conflict with Serbia in the late 1990s,when founders were forcibly deported by paramilitaries. Its focus is mainlyon original programming for Kosovan society, including a large diasporaaudience. As a pioneer on the market, RTV21 was the first station in Kosovoto broadcast on digital terrestrial and the first station in Kosovo and theBalkans to broadcast in HD format.
