Ohlone Humane Society – Advocating for All Animals OHS is a nonprofit animal welfare organization located in the SF Bay Area. We care for animals and the community through programs including companion animal rescue and adoption, humane education, and animal assisted therapy. Our more unusual programs include: - Read-to-a-Dog in partnership with the Fremont Library system - Pet-Meals-On-Wheels for companion animals - Advocacy for animal welfare legislation at local and state levels - Rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured or orphaned wildlife OHS does not receive local or state government funding. We are not affiliated with a parent company such as the Humane Society of the United States. We are privately funded and rely on the generous support of our community through donations and volunteering. Our Mission: to inspire respect and compassion for all animals, advocate for their interests and welfare, and instill in our community that all living beings deserve to be treated humanely.
