One-to-many platforms, like YouTube, lack peer interaction. Flat platforms, like Reddit or Facebook Groups, rarely evolve beyond comment threads. Meaningful community happens in-between: many small group interactions organized around shared interests, like sports teams, book clubs, or churches.
